NCAA Golfers Set to Tee it up in Stockton

Stockton, Calif. - One of the elite tournaments on the NCAA Men’s Golf fall schedule will be played in Stockton for the third consecutive year. Hosted by the University of the Pacific, the Stockton Sports Commission
Pacific Invitational, presented by Ron Berberian, Bank of Agriculture & Commerce and Berberian
European Motors, will take place November 3-5 at Brookside Country Club.
Tournament Week events begin this Saturday with the Port of Stockton Kids Clinic at Van Buskirk
Park Golf Course. On Sunday, a College-Am tournament will pair members of the local community
with some of the nation’s top collegiate golfers for 18 holes. The College-Am will be followed by a
reception for all participants and collegiate competitors, sponsored by Ameriprise Financial
Advisors.
In addition to host Pacific, this year’s twelve team field is headlined by Kansas State, Marquette
and the University of Oregon, who is coached by former Stanford standout and PGA touring pro
Casey Martin. The tournament also features regional rivals UC Davis, Fresno State, and for the first
time, the Sacramento State Hornets. BYU, Rice, Texas-San Antonio, UC Santa Barbara and Cal
State Northridge round out this year’s field.
“Thanks in large part to the support of the Stockton Sports Commission, this event has become not
only one of the signature events in college golf, but for the University of the Pacific and the city of
Stockton,” said Pacific head coach Brandon Goethals. “We’ve got another competitive field that will
bring some of the top teams and individuals from all over the country to our community.”
